Sometimes, adventure beckons.
If you're smart, you say "Yes!"
You grab your camera, grin at your sister, and just go.
Oh, yeah, taking your husband along is a really good idea...'cause he's the one that notices the fog that's come in ever so quietly while you're yakking with your sister!
It doesn't matter that it's raining, or that you're not quite sure if your adventure will pan out.
You just go and prepare to be awed.
I'm not much for brown, and winter - well, it pretty much depresses me with its lack of color and bright light.
The light is softer, muted, and wraps you softly in its blanket if you just let it.
And, then God surprises you, and the fog slips in, almost unnoticed.
And, you say, "Thank you."
P.S. I've not quite quoted Carl Sandberg's line correctly, and I hope that he wouldn't have minded.
