Not to a four year old!
Toss the string.
Grab the pom poms and stuff them into the holes in the beads.
Create a really really cool graphic design.
Smile at the results! You've just made art.

That's thinking outside the box. :-) I love that last photo - his creation is beautiful and he looks so happy.
