Heading back north tomorrow morning, and none of us wants to go back to reality, especially since home equals massive power outages and triple digit temps...ugh!
But tonight was pure magic...a sunset on the sound and a walk on the Avon Pier. Earlier today, we munched on fried pickles, which were surprisingly good. Go figure!
It's week #26 over at Focus 52, which means we're halfway there! Appropriately enough, the prompt is "half," so this morning I caught this little fellow half in and half out of his home, and thought, "cool...I've got my photo!"
Enjoying our time here in the Cape Hatteras area - surf, sun, seafood!
Celebrating 38 years with Phil today! Mimosas and French toast on the deck...what a lovely start to our anniversary!
I also have a lovely new toy - an apple ipad touch. Now, to figure out how to use it...
Spent time on Cape Hatteras' beach earlier and we're off to dinner at the "Froggy Dog" later.

Loving the Outer Banks, loving the water, loving the seafood! We took the ferry to Ocracoke today, which is one of my favorite spots. Lots of artists' shops with tons of color, texture, and just outright funky at times. I did far more looking than buying, but boy has the creative well been filled. These bikes caught my eye, as did so much else.
I've inhaled:
- fudge
- scallops
- absolutely delicious crab legs at "The Mad Crabber"
- crab cake
- and now we're on our way to get some ice cream
Guess I really should be riding these bikes, not photographing them!

At the Outer Banks in NC and loving the sun and sand!
These guys are on their way to various parts of the country and a few "lucky dogs" are headed overseas.
I love mail art - such a neat surprise to find in my mailbox. Here's the scoop: stenciled designs on a kraft paper background, outlining with a fine tipped sharpie, and some bits and pieces of tape here and there. Add some stamping and various blue dogs from an old calendar and you've got mail art!
Over at Focus 52, Week 24 found me searching for something to shoot on the theme, "It's a Guy's Thing." Luckily, Grandpa decided to pull a Tom Sawyer white picket fence deal on the oldest grand. A boy...no, excuse me, two boys...some soap suds, a broom, and water - well, it all adds up to great fun! And, ta-da! I had my photos!

I'm not sure what Dom is trying to tell his grandpa in that bottom right photo, but he hands were flying and Granpa was laughing. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the pay involved.

For the past few weeks, I've woken promptly at 4am. It doesn't matter one whit whether I go to bed at 9 or 12; I'm up at 4 and trust me, am not a happy camper!

I love it! It reminds me of a vintage card...Phil says it looks like a painting. Either way, I'm happy. Tired, but happy!
