Late last night, Phil and I stood in awe just taking them all in...life sized warriors created in China over 2000 years ago. The Terra Cotta Warriors stood silently through all these years, guarding their emperor, Shihuangdi. Chinese craftsmen mass produced these men in a sense, but they created by hand, and each warrior stands unique. The details amazed me...to create this out of clay!
I stood and studied faces, and I wondered about these men...the men who served, and the men who created. On the inside of one is a fingerprint...a connection stretching back over time. Phenomenal. I circled around and around, and I so wanted to touch.
A few nights earlier, we sat at the Landmark Theater in Richmond and tried to take this all in. Neither of us knew where to look first...I need another 5 or 6 times to even begin to see it all. Just imagine Glinda, the good witch, being played as a very ditzy blonde. We laughed and laughed.
A phenomenal set, wild costumes, and great music...I am just so blessed. (Thank you, Kara and Kim!)
On another topic...still sneezing and coughing, but I only have two more days to go, and then...Easter break!
